Why was my payment declined if I have money in my account?
If you have funds but the payment failed, your bank is likely applying a daily online spending limit.
The $275 USD online limit
Some banks in Aruba and Curaçao cap e-commerce purchases at $275 USD per day. This is set by your bank, not Suave. Banks known to apply this limit:
CMB
MCB
RBC
Banco di Caribe
If you've already made online purchases today and reached $275, any further online transactions — including your Suave payment — will be declined, even with sufficient balance.
How to fix it
Option 1 — Wait until tomorrow. Your bank's daily limit resets at midnight.
Option 2 — Use a different card. The following banks typically allow unrestricted online purchases:
✅ Aruba Bank
✅ Revolut
✅ Orco Bank
✅ Any US bank or card
What do the decline codes mean?
Do not honor — your bank blocked the transaction without a specific reason, often due to daily limits or security settings.
Card velocity exceeded — your card has reached the maximum number or amount of online transactions for the day.
Both of these point to a bank-side restriction, not a problem with your Suave account.
